There is an emergence of a recovery movement and there are many different recovery communities which support people in recovering from problematic drug use. Recovering Justice sits outside of the recovery communities acting in capacity to scrutinise drugs policy as human rights violations.
We have formed strong alliances and partnerships with organisations including the Scottish Recovery Consortium, Transform, Release, and Anyone’s Child.
We are community advisors for Mike Barton Durham Chief Constable, Crime Commissioner Ron Hogg, and have hosted three engagement workshops with the recovery community movement, grassroots organisations and service providers.
Currently we are developing a working relationship with other North East police services and PCCs to work together on drug reform, stigma, woman and their specific needs.
