We are delighted to announce that we have received funding from the Coronavirus Community Support Fund, distributed by The National Lottery Community Fund. We will build on the work we have been doing in the North East since 2017 engaging connecting and empowering women to create systemic change.
We are adapting and increasing our support and connection services online to our existing and new beneficiaries based on self-identified needs arising from COVID-19.
Running for 6 months it will make a significant difference to lives of women who use drugs/in recovery and their families and create wider systemic change If you are a woman living in the North East who has been subjected to stigma or discrimination because of problematic substance use please get in touch.
The project activities have been designed in consultation with women in our network and we will continue to do consultation. We will be providing a range of holistic services:
- Stress Management,
- Yoga and breathwork.
- Personalised benefit and debt advice.
- Bi weekly online meet up
- Meditation and mindfullness
- Mentoring and training workshops
- Individual counselling and mentoring
- Mentoring and training for peer advocates.
We will also signpost and facilitate peer supported access to services, e.g. housing, drug & alcohol services, employment and social services.
